Position Summary:
Bay Area Retina Associates is looking for a Director of Operations for their premiere, multi-doctor, multi-office ophthalmology private practice.  This position reports to the physician board and is based at their flagship clinical office for the practice in Walnut Creek, but includes oversight of and travel to their other seven offices in the East Bay as required.
Responsibilities include:

Clinical Operations Management

  • Supervise a staff of 35 front and back office employees

Non-clinical Operations Management
  • Facilities

Experience required:
  • 5 years experience managing medical outpatient clinical operations across multiple sites
  • Direct management of multi-level teams of employees
  • Experience in ophthalmology is preferred
 Skills required:
  • Strategic skills to develop and implement new procedures and practices within an organization
  • Able to effectively manage and positively motivate teams of hourly wage employees
  • Analytical skill sufficient to organize and prepare comprehensive reports
  • Project management, including ability to manage in-house projects as well as outside vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms
  • Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail
  • Able to work and act independently
  • Excellent customer service and client services philosophy in all interactions
