Position Summary:

The Head of HR reports directly to the CEO and will drive key philosophies, strategies, programs and activities regarding the creation of a world-class culture and the workforce as competitive advantage in support of the strategic business objectives. The Head of HR will provide ‘real time’ solutions, HR tools and expertise for executives, managers and employees as they lead, manage and work. The Head of HR is responsible for designing and administering human resource processes and procedures focused on all aspects of HR management including compensation, benefits and 401k administration, performance management, HRIS, data reporting, metrics and analysis, recruiting, employee onboarding, employee relations, employee and leadership development and special projects related to creating and sustaining a culture where high performers thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a broad range of scalable HR philosophies, strategies, practices, systems & infrastructure needed by an agile startup.
  • Design and deliver HR programs and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness using sound understanding of the business needs of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; strong attention to detail; ability to prioritize and manage multiple, high priority tasks and adjust to shifting priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Provide managers  and  employees  with  HR  tools  and  knowledge  to  increase  their professional effectiveness. Work with them to solve immediate issues in real-time.
  • Work closely with managers to identify and address employee relations, performance and group issues in ways that build a healthy and productive work environment.
  • Lead HR initiatives and projects as assigned.
  • Model leadership, management and communication skills for the rest of the organization.
  •  Review and assess compensation and benefits including trends and benchmarking.
  • Design and deliver salary structures and compensation leveling.
  • Proven experience designing recruiting strategy and implementing recruiting process.
  • Assess and improve performance management tools and processes.
  • Design and deliver training and development programs.
  • Work closely with the executive team to develop a culture of accountability and fun.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years Human Resources Generalist experience and 5 years in an HR leadership role.
  • Experience in cultivating people, creating corporate cultures and developing workforces as a strategic, competitive advantage in innovative and rapidly changing environments.
  • Proven experience building the HR infrastructure from the ground up.
  • A self-starter who can work independently with minimal oversight and take initiative, who is also flexible, adaptable, organized, has a strong attention to detail, and thrives in an ever changing/fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent independent decision-making skills and strong resourcefulness.
  • Ability to forge and maintain effective business relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable working in a fluid and flexible environment.
  • Strategic partner who can roll up their sleeves and execute flawlessly.
  • Expert communication skills, able to interface and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly developed people and project management skills.
  • Strong customer service focus.
